A marine services company is seeking an Able Bodied Seaman for a unique research vessel. This role involves ensuring deck maintenance, supporting the Captain, and participating in safety drills. Candidates must possess STCW certification and have proficiency in operating boats. The position requires physical fitness and the ability to work in a team, ensuring compliance with international maritime regulations. The contract includes an 8-week-on and 4-week-off rotation with a competitive salary based on experience.

The Vessel is unlike any other ship. It is equipped with some of the most sophisticated facilities onboard for carrying out cutting‑edge ocean science, as well as offering charter opportunities designed to integrate exploration, adventure, and science. REV Ocean will operate as a research vessel for 2/3 of the year and be available for charters for 1/3 of the year.
We are looking for :
The Able Seafarer (AB) is part of the deck team and responsible for the maintenance, operation and upkeep of deck spaces and equipment as directed by the Bosun or Chief Officer. The AB will also provide lookout duties and assist the Captain, Chief Officer or Bridge Officers as required.
Fluent English (verbal, written and technical). English is the working and safety language on board. This also includes the ability to give and receive instructions in verbal and written forms and to effectively and efficiently engage with guests and crew members. Additional languages are considered beneficial.
Required to stand, walk long distances, reaching and sitting. Repetitive motion of bending, going up and down stairs, climbing ladders. Lifting or pushing of up to 50lbs. The position requires overtime work and irregular schedules. Works in all areas of the vessel with light traffic and distracting environments.
