Qualifications

- Prepare and maintain equipment for food technology lessons.

- Assist teachers and students during practical lessons.

A welcoming and ambitious secondary school in Dudley is seeking a reliable and enthusiastic Food Technology Technician to join their Design & Technology department on a part-time basis (2 days per week Mon & Fri ). This role is being recruited with the support of Progress Teachers, a specialist education recruitment agency.
This is an excellent opportunity to support high-quality teaching and learning in a busy, practical classroom environment.
- Prepare, set up and clear away equipment and ingredients for practical food technology lessons
- Ensure the food technology classroom and preparation areas are clean, safe and well maintained
- Support teachers and students during practical lessons where required
- Monitor and manage stock levels, including ordering ingredients and supplies
- Ensure health and safety standards are followed, including food hygiene procedures
- Carry out regular equipment checks and basic maintenance
- Assist with the safe storage and disposal of food items and waste
- Experience working in a school, food preparation, catering or similar practical environment (desirable)
- Basic knowledge of food hygiene and health & safety
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- A calm, professional and flexible approach to work
- Willingness to undertake an enhanced DBS check (or have one registered on the update service)
