Our Nuclear team is looking for an experienced Cost Estimator to work as part of an integrated project controls team delivering nuclear work. The projects combine both new build and decommissioning within a structured collaborative environment working with colleagues focused on innovative solutions and teamwork, with a focus on delivering programme outputs.

Your expertise in planning, estimating, budgeting, and managing costs will drive growth and smarter working.

The main responsibilities of this role include providing an effective cost estimating service to Project Managers and Alliance Managers. This involves participating in project reviews and audits to ensure compliance with company procedures, developing cost breakdown structures, and supporting the development of work breakdown structures.
The person in this role will provide estimates for all stages of a project lifecycle using existing software, develop cost estimates based on norms or bottom-up approaches, and ensure all qualifications, exclusions, and assumptions are captured in the estimates. They will load estimating data into relevant systems, incorporate lessons learned from internal and external sources, and maintain the cost database for corporate knowledge.
Additional duties include acting as an independent verifier for cost estimates, participating in tender assessments, quantifying cost implications of emergent or additional project work, and supporting post-contract administration. They will also participate in independent cost estimate reviews.
Travel to sites across Bridgwater and/or Bristol approximately twice per week is required.
