Capital Budgeting and Reporting Lead (PAYE)

On behalf of EANI, we are looking for a Capital Budgeting and Reporting Lead (PAYE) for a contract to run up until the end of March 2026, based in Omagh, Belfast, Ballymena, Dundonald, Armagh. This role can be worked remotely and you will have an expectation to see your manager 1–2 times per quarter.

EA was established on 1 April 2015 under the Education Act (Northern Ireland) 2014. EA is a non-departmental public body sponsored by the Department of Education (DE) and the Department for the Economy (DfE), responsible for ensuring that efficient and effective primary and secondary education and educational services are available to meet the needs of children and young people, and for ensuring the provision of efficient and effective youth services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the Functional Lead delivering capital budget and reporting services, ensuring consistent and cohesive financial support across the service, including during the annual accounts process.
  • Manage assigned capital budget and year-end processes, driving efficiency and effectiveness while ensuring compliance with statutory requirements.
  • Oversee workload distribution and service activities through structured work plans, identifying opportunities for continuous improvement in delivery and governance.
  • Contribute to the development of strategies, frameworks, and systems that enhance financial governance, compliance, and customer‑focused service delivery.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, providing expert financial advice and resolving complex service issues as needed.
  • Lead or support continuous improvement initiatives, including digital transformation projects, training delivery, and technical guidance, while deputising for management when required.
