HV Substation Commissioning Engineer – Protection & Control
Job summary
A leading engineering company is seeking an HV Commissioning Engineer for a 12-month contract, primarily home-based. The role involves commissioning protection and control systems on HV substations, ensuring compliance with industry standards. Candidates should possess significant HV substation experience, relevant electrical qualifications, and prior National Grid authorisation. This position promotes a strong health and safety culture on-site and requires coordinating with project managers and stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Electrical engineering qualification or strong relevant experience.
- Current or previous National Grid SR141 / BP141 / TP141 authorisation is essential.
- Extensive HV substation commissioning experience required.
Responsibilities
- Planning and delivering site acceptance testing and commissioning.
- Conducting functional and performance testing of protection systems.
- Managing commissioning documentation and ensuring approval standards are met.
