A community health organisation is seeking a Bid Writer to join their Business Development Team. The role involves producing high-quality, compliant bid responses and requires experience in a community health or similar environment. To support ABLs ambitious growth strategy, we are seeking a Bid Writer to join our successful Business Development Team. This dynamic role will be key in writing high-quality, compliant and compelling bids, supporting ABL to diversify into aligned markets, and to maintain and grow its existing services.

The post holder will be responsible for producing high‑quality, persuasive and fully compliant bid responses across a range of subject areas, accurately articulating ABLs service models, outcomes and impact. The role involves interpreting tender specifications, quality questions and evaluation criteria to develop targeted written submissions that address commissioner priorities and scoring requirements, while translating complex clinical, operational and performance information into clear, compelling narratives tailored to the intended audience.
You will have experience in a community health or similar environment and a passion for creating innovative, engaging and compliant bid submissions, drafting and formatting responses to ABLs writing style. You will be an adept communicator who adapts the message to fit the needs of the audience while building strong relationships fostering trust and cooperation among colleagues, sub‑contractors and other key stakeholders. You will possess excellent written communication skills, proofreading and editing ability, a strong focus on grammar, accuracy and consistency, and strong attention to formatting to ensure professional, visually consistent submissions.
This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.

The postholder will be responsible for maintaining the clinical and/or corporate records that fall within the remit of this role to the standards in ABLs records management policies, and data quality processes and standards.
Compliance with the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974: the postholder is required to fulfil a proactive role towards the management of risk in all of their actions. This entails the risk assessment of all situations, the taking of appropriate actions and reporting of all incidents, near misses and hazards, and a statutory duty of care for their own personal safety and that of others who may be affected by their acts or omissions.
