Job summary
A socially responsible web development firm seeks a senior freelance web designer. You will create beautiful, functional websites for NGO clients, ensuring they are easy for non-technical clients to manage. Key qualifications include over 3 years of experience in building WordPress sites, a strong understanding of web design principles, and the ability to work with page builders and plugins. This role requires outstanding design skills and the capability to ensure optimal site performance.
Qualifications
- At least 3 years of experience building corporate WordPress sites.
- Ability to create custom websites without relying on pre-made themes.
- Strong design sensibility, understanding of color palettes and content hierarchy.
Responsibilities

- Ensure sites are easy for clients to manage and maintain.
- Optimize site load time, functionality, and security.

We are looking for senior freelance web designers - based in or close to a UK timezone - that can create brilliant websites for our NGO clients.
Our projects are typically fixed priced with ongoing maintenance as required.
- Ability to create websites from scratch (without a theme)
- Structure sites so they are easy to hand over to non-techy clients
- Secure and maintain sites so they load optimally
- Provide analytics insight
- Find and create plugins as necessary
- Excellent design eye - e.g. you understand colour palettes and content hierarchy
- At least 3 years' of experience building corporate WordPress sites
- Good understanding of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
