Our General Property team are at the heart of our business: managing property claims ranging from minor damage to major to catastrophic events. As a Commercial and/or Domestic Loss Adjuster, you’ll be assigned your own region and mixed claims portfolio. The role will be home‑based with regular regional travel required and occasional overnight stays depending on the location.

You’ll be supporting our valued clients in proactively handling and settling a mixed caseload of property claims, up to the value of £100k. These can vary in complexity, so it’s essential that you put yourself in the shoes of the policy holder, appreciate each situation differently by investigating each claim with tact and a calm manner, establish the facts and policy details, and work towards a resolution. Client relationships will be key, through management and delivery of SLA’s and KPI’s, in addition to proactive client and broker interaction to assist in efficient claims handling and business development opportunities.

You’ll also liaise with colleagues in different business areas, such as Casualty, Major & Complex Loss, Contractor Connections and Legal depending on the nature of the claim. Attention to detail is essential to ensure each step of the claims process is as thorough as possible, collating and recording all necessary statements and information. You’ll need to remove hurdles in the process if required, ensuring you get to the root cause of issues, taking responsibility to resolve problems and collate all necessary details to ensure swift settlement whenever possible.

We’re looking for experienced adjusters who enjoy providing solutions. Previous loss adjusting or complex high‑value claims handling experience is essential. Additionally, we’d like you to have/be:

• ACII or CILA qualified, though candidates qualified by experience are welcome; we do seek candidates committed to achieving their personal qualifications.
• Extensive knowledge and understanding of FCA procedures and TCF initiatives.
• Extensive knowledge of the insurance market.
• Extensive technical knowledge within the adjusting arena.
• Understanding of client SLA compliance, productivity and quality requirements.
• Proven working knowledge of scoping software and handheld device use.
• Good negotiation skills – for arranging appointments when required, organising alternative accommodation and explaining information when there is pushback on settlement.
• An ability to understand what matters to the customer and to put this first – putting yourself in their shoes.
• Good IT skills, with a keen eye for detail.
• Flexibility in travelling.
• Full UK driving licence.
