Job summary
A leading recruitment agency is urgently seeking a Temporary Finance Manager based in Dunmurray, Belfast. The role requires a fully qualified accountant or an experienced candidate, focusing on financial statement preparation, budget management, and payroll supervision. This is an ongoing temporary assignment that necessitates a straight start. The successful candidate will oversee the collection of school fees and work closely with the Department of Education. This position is fully onsite, providing a dynamic environment to manage financial operations.
Qualifications
- Experience in preparing monthly Income and Expenditure Accounts.
- Ability to manage payroll procedures efficiently.
- Familiarity with grant application processes.

Temporary Finance Manager - Urgent Need
Dunmurray area, Belfast
Fully qualified accountants & candidates qualified by experience will be considered.
- Preparing monthly Income and Expenditure Accounts
- Preparing the annual Department of Education Statement of Accounts, Form S40A, and supporting schedules
- Participating in the preparation of the Annual Budget and 3 year Financial Plans
- Participating in and supervising the monthly payroll procedures
- Managing and recording the collection of school fees and all other relevant charges from parents including following up unpaid items
- Preparing grant applications to the Department of Education including substitute teacher costs, classroom assistants salaries and maternity leave payments.
- Liaising and agreeing applications with the Department of Education and reconciling applications with income received
- Preparing and inputting journals to the computerised accounts system;
- Preparing schedules, printouts, analysis, spreadsheets and such like as required by the auditors in the course of their work on the internal and external audits of the school
- Preparing and recording bank lodgements and organising the efficient cash handling of school funds
- Supervising the operations of the accounts payable function;
- Supervising the operation of the petty cash system
- Preparing monthly bank reconciliations and cash flow reports
