About the Role

Reporting to the Group Commercial Finance Director, you will play a key role in managing shared services costs and producing accurate and timely management accounts. You'll also be a central figure in the annual budgeting process and provide strategic financial insight across the business.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the Commercial Finance Director in budgetary compliance and identifying cost‑saving opportunities
• Provide financial guidance to Heads of Shared Service departments, ensuring strong financial understanding and performance
• Produce and analyse monthly central cost reporting packs and forecasts
• Collaborate on strategic projects and initiatives
• Lead the annual budget process alongside the Commercial Finance Director and BUFCs
• Ensure reporting deadlines are met and results are accurately recorded
• Assist with financial due diligence for acquisitions and post‑acquisition integration
• Investigate underlying trends and variances to support data‑driven decisions
• Undertake additional duties in line with the role as required

About You

Essential

• Qualified Accountant
• 1‑2 years’ experience in a similar multi‑site finance role
• Strong commercial acumen and understanding of market context
• Proven track record of meeting reporting and analysis deadlines
• Experience working with external stakeholders in commercial negotiations
• Ability to collaborate effectively with non‑financial managers
• Strong Excel skills and solid systems knowledge
• Flexible, proactive, and a strong team player

Desirable

• Experience within the Health & Social Care sector, ideally Children's Services
• Knowledge of Coldharbour financials
