The role

We are looking for a commercially orientated ambitious Finance Director, who shares our values, to support us through and beyond as we enter our next phase of growth.

This is a critical role, working alongside the Directors with a clear career path to Board membership.

This will be an evolving role in a growing business, so the Finance Director will not only be an exceptional Accountant and, initially, hands on with the day-to-day company finances, but also highly astute with the ability to plan strategically and advise on the most commercial opportunities to support growth and achieve this boutique financial services organisation's strategic goals.

Alongside the core day to day responsibilities of running the financial operations of the company, you will also need to demonstrate strong leadership skills and experience of stakeholder management/engagement.

You will have ownership of all aspects of finance including regulatory compliance and reporting as well as strategic finance.

This includes;

• M&A evaluation, modelling, negotiations, financial due diligence, and in partnership with our legal advisors, legal execution.
• Critical evaluation and cost/benefit analysis of growth strategies
• Provide commercial financial lens to all strategic and operational projects and decision making. Be guardian, steward and gatekeeper of the company's finances, providing both robust challenge and critical support to the company's growth opportunities.
• Recruit and build the finance function in line with corporate growth trajectory and provide ongoing leadership, management and oversight of the finance function.

Role Requirements

• Qualified Accountant - member of an Accountancy Body
• Proven experience as a Finance Director at an SME or Financial Controller /Head of Finance at a larger company.
• Comprehensive knowledge of financial planning principles, accounting regulations, and reporting standards.
• Expert Excel skills and excellent knowledge of accounting systems (knowledge of Sage 50 highly desirable)
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
• Strategic mindset and a proactive approach to financial management.
