We are currently recruiting for a VP Operations Excellence within our Healthcare & Specialist Logistics division.
In this role, you will shape, drive, and lead the business by defining strategies and tactics to develop and expand an operational model for both existing and targeted customers. The focus is on renewal rates, generating new business, and enhancing profits for DHL and our customers through significant cost reductions. This will involve meeting safety and service standards while exceeding quality benchmarks in alignment with business objectives, corporate guidelines, and policies. Additionally, you will balance organizational and customer needs to achieve the four bottom lines each year, with a clear plan to invest in and promote the ESG agenda.
Key Responsibilities:
- Developing and communicating a clear vision for operational excellence that aligns with the organization’s goals and objectives.
- Ensuring the highest standards of safety across operations, prioritizing and promoting a culture of safety within the organization.
- Driving the successful implementation of global operations excellence initiatives, such as OMS (Operations Management System).
- Fostering collaboration across departments to ensure alignment and integration of operational excellence practices throughout the organization.
- Developing a logical divisional real estate strategy by determining the optimal distribution of facilities and resources to support operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.
- Conducting thorough evaluations of new business proposals to ensure alignment with DHL's standards, goals, and profitability.
- Identifying and implementing initiatives that result in significant cost reductions and enhance customer satisfaction and service delivery.
- Overseeing the successful launch and operation of start-up ventures.
- Ensuring compliance with DHL's quality and security standards across all sites.
- Driving the industrialized rollout of proven technologies and innovations.
- Integrating sustainability practices into operational processes to support ESG goals.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Experience working across multiple Business Units/sectors.
- Extensive operations management experience focusing on process improvement, efficiency, and quality control.
- Strong knowledge of Pharma, Supply Chain Processes, logistics, warehousing, and related operational functions.
- Experience managing teams and projects in a matrix, cross-functional, or cross-organizational structure.
- Proven experience in continuous improvement (CI), transformation, or operations excellence roles, including implementing lean methodologies.
- Ability to influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Demonstrated leadership skills, including managing teams and driving organizational change.
- Experience in the pharmaceutical/medical or aviation & travel industries.
