A leading recruitment agency is seeking a Homelessness Advice and Prevention Officer to support individuals facing homelessness in Skelmersdale. The role involves advising on housing options, assisting with council responsibilities, and maintaining case records. Strong communication skills and experience with homelessness assessments are crucial. This position offers an umbrella rate of £21.10 per hour and requires on-site attendance at least twice a week.
This job is about helping people who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless. You talk to people one-on-one to understand their situation, check what help the council must provide, and give advice on housing options. You work to prevent homelessness by helping people find temporary, supported, or permanent homes. You also keep accurate records of cases, update the housing register, and work with other agencies, landlords, and council teams to solve housing problems. The role may involve handling sensitive information, attending meetings, writing reports, and occasionally working outside normal hours. Essentially, it’s about supporting vulnerable people, making sure the council meets its legal duties, and helping people stay in safe homes.
Candidates will be required to attend the offices in Skelmersdale WN8 8LP at least twice a week – Candidates will have to have worked assessing homeless under HA1996 and HRA2017
Umbrella rate: £21.10 per hour
