Development Engineer
Job summary
An engineering firm in Andover seeks a Development Engineer for a permanent position. Candidates should possess a degree in Mechanical Engineering and experience in design within a manufacturing setting. Responsibilities include designing equipment and working with 3D CAD software, primarily SolidWorks. Excellent communication and teamwork skills are essential. Responsibilities
- Designing development equipment and prototype production tooling.

SALARY: £28,000‑£35,000 per annum (dependent on experience)
My client works within the engineering manufacturing sector, and they are looking to take on a Development Engineer, on a permanent basis, to join their team in Andover.
- Degree / HNC / HND / BTEC / NVQ / qualified in Mechanical Engineering or similar
- 1 year or more experience working in a similar hands‑on Mechanical Design / Development position within a manufacturing environment
- Proficiency with using 3D CAD; ideally SolidWorks but other software will be considered
- Have the ability to select the correct engineering components and materials
- Previous experience of working with special purpose machine assemblies, test rigs or precision tooling would be desirable
- Excellent communication skills
- The ability to work well alone as well as part of a team
- Designing development equipment, prototype production tooling, test rigs, machine parts and other equipment in an engineering development environment
- Working with SolidWorks CAD software
- Updating 3D models and drawings
- Inputting parts into the MRP system creating BOMs
- Checking drawings for sign off
- Working in a multi-disciplinary engineering team
- Providing engineering problem resolution and support
- Working in a small multi-disciplinary team on varied projects
