Development Engineer

LOCATION: Andover

TERM: Permanent

SALARY: £28,000‑£35,000 per annum (dependent on experience)

My client works within the engineering manufacturing sector, and they are looking to take on a Development Engineer, on a permanent basis, to join their team in Andover.

Attributes
  • Degree / HNC / HND / BTEC / NVQ / qualified in Mechanical Engineering or similar
  • 1 year or more experience working in a similar hands‑on Mechanical Design / Development position within a manufacturing environment
  • Proficiency with using 3D CAD; ideally SolidWorks but other software will be considered
  • Have the ability to select the correct engineering components and materials
  • Previous experience of working with special purpose machine assemblies, test rigs or precision tooling would be desirable
  • Excellent communication skills
  • The ability to work well alone as well as part of a team
Responsibilities
  • Designing development equipment, prototype production tooling, test rigs, machine parts and other equipment in an engineering development environment
  • Working with SolidWorks CAD software
  • Updating 3D models and drawings
  • Inputting parts into the MRP system creating BOMs
  • Checking drawings for sign off
  • Working in a multi-disciplinary engineering team
  • Providing engineering problem resolution and support
  • Working in a small multi-disciplinary team on varied projects
