Reporting to, and working in conjunction with, a Managing Director who is highly driven and passionate about the business, the Finance Director will be instrumental in streamlining and improving processes across the organisation with a focus on total business development and growth. Ensuring financial controls and the commercial framework are highly robust, and designing and driving sustainable, profitable growth while providing sound financial and commercial guidance for the entire business.

The Finance Director is the senior executive accountable to the CEO and Board of Directors for managing the company's financial health and long-term growth by establishing financial and commercial strategies, overseeing finance, accounting, and tendering operations, providing coherence between the Finance and Commercial departments, and providing comprehensive reports.

Based in the Central South Coast region of the UK, this forward-thinking, highly respected business requires a commercially focused senior finance professional to work with all key stakeholders to provide finance, operational, and commercial support during this crucial period of growth, post-acquisition integration, and forming a cohesive group structure.

1. Strategic Financial & Commercial Leadership:
   • Lead the Finance and Commercial Departments to deliver company outputs.
   • Provide financial & commercial advice and guidance to the CEO and Board of Directors.
   • Formulate and direct financial and tendering strategies aligned with the company's goals.
   • Contribute to achieving business objectives through strategic guidance.
   • Drive change management initiatives and implement beneficial financial strategies.
   • Critically analyse performance to tailor efficiencies and drive the business forward.
2. Planning, Forecasting, and Budgeting:
   • Develop and control the annual operating budget and financial plans.
   • Oversee budget planning, monitoring, and reporting tools.
   • Ensure all financial targets are met.
   • Create financial tools to forecast performance.
   • Integrate outputs from the Commercial department into financial planning.
   • Allocate funds for capital investments and monitor spending.
3. Operations and Management:
   • Oversee the finance office and commercial office.
   • Establish policies and procedures for finance and accounting.
   • Manage cash flow and ensure financial liquidity.
   • Identify efficiencies across departments to drive savings.
   • Ensure compliance with regulations and standards.
4. Risk Management:
   • Identify and manage financial and commercial risks.
   • Advise on risks and benefits of business initiatives.
   • Ensure regulatory compliance at all stages.
   • Safeguard financial assets.
5. Reporting and Analysis:
   • Prepare reports for the Board to support decision-making.
   • Analyze data to identify trends and opportunities.
   • Conduct financial reviews across the business.
6. Relationship Management:
   • Build relationships with lenders, banks, investors, clients, and procurement offices.
7. Compliance:
   • Ensure adherence to tax and financial laws.
   • Produce compliance submissions and advise the board.
8. Training and Development:
   • Implement training for finance and commercial staff.

The client offers a generous package including a basic salary of £100k-£120k (dependent on experience and qualifications), with significant bonus potential based on performance and growth. Flexibility in working hours and the possibility of remote work are negotiable.

The ideal candidate will be based in the Central South Coast region and will be required to be on-site, especially initially, to establish relationships and understand the business deeply.
