The AtkinsRéalis Infrastructure Project Delivery Practice (PDP) is the centre of excellence for infrastructure project delivery, combining project management and design management to serve clients in both public and private sectors. Our team handles design services across Water Infrastructure, Defence Infrastructure, Nuclear, Aviation, Energy, Rail (stations), and Urban Developments.

We are excited to offer a new opportunity within the Infrastructure PDP for an Associate Director to join our North, Scotland, and Northern Ireland (NS&NI) practice. This role, based in Newcastle or Stockton, is ideal for someone ready to advance their career and take on greater project delivery responsibilities from inception to completion. The position involves a mix of agile work from our NS&NI offices, client site visits, and office-based work.

Our growth in the Northern regions, especially within Energy and Urban developments, drives our recruitment efforts. This role provides the chance to work on a diverse portfolio of projects, including refurbishment, new builds, nuclear, defence, and water projects, allowing you to develop and demonstrate your project management expertise.

As an Associate Director or Senior Project Manager, you should have extensive experience in multi-disciplinary infrastructure project delivery, preferably within a consultancy environment. You will lead and ensure the successful delivery of major projects from concept through construction and handover.

Your responsibilities:

• Deliver projects successfully, meeting targets for schedule, budget, and quality.
• Identify and manage contractual and commercial risks, as well as opportunities.
• Lead, motivate, coach, and develop the project team.
• Coordinate communication with clients, team members, subcontractors, and partners.
• Agree on commercial arrangements and communication plans with internal teams and global centers.
• Manage project delivery programs and plans, ensuring commercial interests are protected, including invoicing, credit control, and risk management, with support from the finance team.

What you should bring:

• Chartered Engineer/Architect/Project Manager or equivalent with experience in infrastructure projects.
• Recognized competence in project management, such as APM PMQ (desirable).
• Experience with construction contracts, especially NEC3 or 4.
• Familiarity with BIM, 3D modelling, and associated information management.
• Ability to identify new business opportunities and bring value through new work.
