To lead the management and delivery of the statutory functions of a local Healthwatch, which consist of obtaining the views of people about their needs and experience of local health and social care services.

Local Healthwatch make these views known to those involved in the commissioning and scrutiny of care services.

Making reports, and making recommendations about how services could or should be improved.

Promoting and supporting the involvement of people in the monitoring, commissioning and provision of local health and social care services.

Providing information and advice to the public about accessing health and social care services and the options available to them.

Making the views and experiences of people known to Healthwatch England, helping it carry out its role as national champion.

Making recommendations to national bodies, such as the Care Quality Commission, to carry out special reviews or investigations into areas of concern.

To do so, you and your team will ensure our services are managed to engage diverse user groups, including the seldom heard; identify and addressing inequalities of access, experience and outcomes from health and social care services; and influence decision making by commissioners and deliverers of these services, through research and evidence.

Oversee local Healthwatch service delivery creating and managing a work plan, and marshalling the team and resources efficiently.

Public Voice is a Community Interest Company (CIC) with a mission to improve neighbourhoods, the lives of the people who live in them and the public services they use.

We take a user centred, co-production approach to understanding individuals and communities needs, and translate that into meaningful insights for service providers in government, public health, and housing. As part of Public Voices work, we conduct in-depth, community-based research that explores health inequalities, their causes, and ways to improve local access and services. A key component of our research function is delivery of local Healthwatch services, which Public Voice has done since April 2013.

The Research Manager at Healthwatch Hounslow will be an experiencedmanager of community-focused projects or programmes.You will be comfortable with all aspects of research from scoping, to deskresearch, to fieldwork, to analysis and writing reports. You will be a clear andconfident communicator, whether producing concise, engaging content suchas reports, or presenting/speaking in meetings or at events.

We are looking for someone who understands and has experience ofcreatively engaging diverse groups and communities particularly seldomheard and underserved groups. Ideally you will be familiar with and anadvocate for the principles and practices of co-production and publicinvolvement.

The Research Manager will enjoy engaging with a wide variety of people-from hearing residents views and experiences of services, to influencingsenior commissioners or providers of health services to make changes andimprovements.

You will have a keen interest in Health and Social Care; and a passion toensure that local people in the community are heard, and health inequalitiesare addressed.
