Job Title: Interim Financial Accountant (14-Month FTC)
Location: Warrington (Hybrid working 2 days in office per week)

About the Role
Our Client is seeking a hands-on and detail-oriented Interim Financial Accountant to support the finance function of our £38m turnover organisation during a 14-month fixed-term period. This is a key role, covering a maternity leave, and ensuring continuity and integrity of our financial reporting, statutory accounts, and compliance obligations.
You will report to the Financial Controller and work closely with a small, collaborative finance team, supporting monthly reporting cycles, audit preparation, and general ledger integrity.
Prepare monthly management accounts and supporting analysis
Assist with preparation of statutory accounts and liaison with external auditors
Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts
Ensure timely completion of month-end and year-end processes
Support budgeting and forecasting activities
Provide financial insights and reports to support decision-making
Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards (UK GAAP/FRS 102)
VAT returns and support with corporation tax submissions
Continuously improve finance processes and controls
Provide cover and support across transactional finance when needed
Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA)
Experience in a similar Financial Accountant or Statutory Accountant role
Strong technical accounting knowledge (UK GAAP/FRS 102)
Confident working autonomously in a fast-paced environment
Excellent Excel and financial systems skills
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Experience in audit preparation and liaising with external auditors
Hybrid working model (typically 2 days in office)
