Financial Reporting Accountant

Reporting directly to the Group Financial Reporting Manager, the Financial Reporting Accountant will play a pivotal role in ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting across the SGN Group. The position is responsible for supporting the financial reporting team in preparing the annual financial statements, assisting with the external audit process, and performing financial control tasks; ensuring compliance with the accounting standards and regulations.

• Preparation of audited financial statements for the Group's subsidiaries at year end, and unaudited interim accounts at half year
• Support the external audit process and preparation of audit pack
• Assist with month end processes: preparation of journals, consolidated reporting pack, balance sheet reconciliations and maintaining the intercompany processes
• Ad hoc accounting tasks, including implementing process improvements and assisting with accounting advice papers
• Collaboration with cross-functional teams to communicate financial results, accounting advice and insights to key stakeholders, including senior management and external auditors
• Maintain strong internal control procedures to safeguard the integrity of the financial data
• Lease accounting

• The job holder should be educated to degree level and have obtained an ACCA or ACA qualification.
• The technical skills and knowledge/experience essential in this job are:
• Strong technical accounting knowledge
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen eye for detail
• Proficient excel skills essential, with experience in Oracle, Planning Analytics and IRIS advantageous but not essential
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey financial information to stakeholders
• Ability to prioritise workload
• Experience in a similar industry role advantageous but not essential
