A leading healthcare organization in Bloxwich is seeking a highly specialist Speech and Language Therapist to work with preschool children. You will support families with complex needs, ensuring effective communication outcomes. Your responsibilities include developing personalized intervention plans, leading a specialist team, and collaborating with other professionals. Walsall Healthcare Speech and Language Therapy Service has an exciting opportunity to work within a newly formed Young and Thriving Team with direct links to the preschool speech and language therapy service. Thefocus will be to support vulnerable families to access services through preventative work, early identification, engagement work, coaching and timely, joined up support embedding Families First Principles. The role will be to work with preschool children, using a whole family approach, to support families with multiple and complex needs resulting from a range of issues to avoid family breakdown and increase parental capacity to improve speech, language and communication outcomes. You will work independently to manage complex cases, and work across a range of community settings, playing a role in training the wider workforce. Excellent communication skills will be required.You will be required to travel. Travel expenses are subsidised. The successful applicant will work closely with service managers, therapists, and other multi-agency professionals. Ongoing supervision will be provided. The post holder will be required to establish, lead and co-ordinate the speech and language therapy role within the Young and Thriving Team, reporting to the Head of the preschool Service and Young and Thriving partners in the Local Authority. To contribute to an integrated team for a cohort of preschool children within families with complex needs who have speech, language and communication difficulties, working in a range of settings. To develop personalised plans, using Family First principles, which are developed To provide appropriate assessment and intervention, advice and support in relation to speech, language and communication (SLC).Adapting practice to meet individual client's circumstances, including due regard for cultural and linguistic differences. To measure and evaluate outcomes of intervention with the young person, key carers and settings. To produce reports, reflecting highly specialist knowledge, in a format that is easily understood by the family. To contribute to legal documents such as Education, Health and Care Plans and court reports. To manage a caseload within departmental standards and integrated team standards. To provide advice and support to colleagues from a range of professions and delivertraining,
