We are currently looking for an experienced Senior Composite Design Engineer. In this role, you will be responsible for designing F1 car composite parts, including layout studies, patterns, moulds, tools, and jigs. You will also enhance the development of efficient design processes and mentor less experienced designers.
Responsibilities include:
- Studying and developing schemes based on aerodynamic data and car layout, following guidelines from your line manager.
- Ensuring designs are completed on time and meet specifications.
- Designing and detailing composite components such as front and rear wings, chassis, impact structures, and bodywork.
- Collaborating with related departments to ensure reliability of designed parts.
- Creating and maintaining comprehensive design documentation, including drawings and analysis reports.
Communication:
- Collaborate with materials, production, and R&D teams to select suitable composite materials based on performance and manufacturing needs.
- Maintain effective communication within your team and with other departments.
Innovation and Professionalism:
- Contribute ideas to improve car performance and identify potential issues.
- Stay updated with the latest technical developments applicable to your work.
- Maintain flexibility in attendance and work attitude to meet project requirements.

Requirements:
- University degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience in composite design, preferably in automotive or motorsports industries.
- Solid knowledge of modelling techniques and composite manufacturing using pre-preg technology.
- Proficiency in CAD software, preferably Siemens NX.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet targets.
- Ability to take ownership of projects.
