Job summary

A leading recruitment agency is seeking a CNC Router Programmer & Operator to join a precision engineering firm. Job description

Do you have experience operating CNC machinery and programming using CAD/CAM? Our client are a leading organisation within the precision engineering and manufacturing sector, producing high-quality components for a range of specialist industries.

Due to ongoing growth and investment in their production capabilities, they are looking to recruit a CNC Router Programmer & Operator to join their busy and well-equipped machine shop.

The successful candidate will have strong experience in CNC machining, a solid understanding of engineering drawings and GD&T, and the capability to create, optimise and run CNC programs to tight tolerances.

This role offers flexible start times between 7am – 8:30am and early Friday finish options; with a great benefits package of, 25days annual leave + stats, 5% employee / 4% employer pension, death in service x2 of salary and a monthly price draw.

  • Create, develop and optimise CNC programs from technical drawings and CAD models
  • Set up, calibrate and operate CNC router machines, ensuring accuracy and alignment
  • Conduct first-off and in-process inspections using precise measurement tools
  • Troubleshoot machining issues and adjust programs, tooling or setups accordingly
  • Maintain a safe, tidy work area and collaborate with production and engineering teams
Skills & Experience
  • Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, GD&T and CAD models
  • Skilled in using CNC machine controls, CAM software and metrology equipment
  • Understanding of machining behaviours for materials such as aluminium, steels and plastics
  • Time-served apprenticeship or HNC/HND (or equivalent) within an engineering discipline
  • Excellent attention to detail, communication skills and the ability to work independently
