Design Engineer

Salary: £32,000 - £40,000 + Benefits

A growing manufacturing business is seeking a Design Engineer to join their specialist design team, supporting the development of bespoke bathroom and wetroom solutions for a wide range of projects. This is an exciting opportunity to work on custom‑designed products from concept through to manufacture, installation, and completion.

Working closely with internal teams including sales, production, and installation, you will play a key role in producing accurate technical drawings and 3D models that bring unique customer requirements to life.

The Role
  • Produce detailed 2D and 3D CAD drawings using AutoCAD and SolidWorks
  • Develop and modify layouts for bathroom and wetroom systems
  • Prepare technical documentation, assembly drawings, and Bills of Materials
  • Support design reviews and implement changes as required
  • Ensure designs meet relevant building regulations and standards
  • Collaborate with manufacturing and installation teams to ensure feasibility and accuracy
About You
  • Experience in a design role within construction, plumbing, fabrication, or similar
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and SolidWorks (or similar CAD platforms)
  • Understanding of plumbing layouts and waterproofing principles
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to interpret technical information
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • Relevant CAD or engineering qualification
Desirable
  • Experience in manufacturing or fabrication design
  • Modular, pod, or MMC experience
  • Revit/BIM exposure
  • Experience producing drawings for CNC manufacturing
