Job summary
A reputable secondary school in Welwyn Garden City is seeking a dedicated Science Technician to join their Science Faculty. The role involves preparing and supporting practical science lessons, ensuring safety, and maintaining laboratory equipment. The ideal candidate will have a science background and strong organizational skills. This position offers competitive term-time only pay based on experience.
Qualifications
- Science background (degree, lab experience, A-Levels or similar).
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- A team-player who contributes positively.
- Comfortable maintaining safe working practices.
Responsibilities
- Preparing and setting up practical equipment and demonstrations.
- Supporting teachers during lab activities where necessary.
- Ensuring safe storage, handling, and disposal of chemicals.
- Maintaining stock levels and ordering supplies.
- Keeping laboratories clean, organised and well-maintained.
- Liaising with teaching staff and the technician team to anticipate lesson needs.
