Overview

Salary up to £37,485 DOE

We are looking for a dedicated Veterinary Surgeon to join our fantastic team at Summerwood Vets on a part-time basis on a 12 month FTC covering 21 hours per week. This role will entail all standard vet responsibilities including surgery and consults.

Rota patterns to suit you - No weekends or OOH

Work life balance is important to us therefore we are open to discussing working days/hours that suit you and there are no weekend or OOH requirements. Typically, our working hours are between 8:30am - 6:30pm, however we are flexible and can work with a rota suited to you.

If you are interested in variation, you can also work at our Summercourt practice.

About Summerwood

Summerwood is a busy, small animal practice nestled in the town of Blackwood in the South Wales valley, with a mix of entertainment options, from the cinema to gyms, shopping spots, and a lively pub scene. Nature enthusiasts will appreciate the stunning scenery and hiking opportunities in the surrounding mountains. Our location provides easy access to Cardiff and Newport, as well as the scenic wonders of the Brecon Beacons and the picturesque Cwmcarn Drive. There are plenty of options for getting around thanks to the local bus station and nearby rail link.

Our spacious practice boasts 4 consult rooms (one is brand new), brand new cattery (top of the range kennels), separate cat and dog kennels, waiting areas, theatre and prep room. Our practice is well-equipped with fantastic facilities including a full dental suite with dental x-ray, dental machine, x-ray machine, cat and dog waiting area and separate kennels, a theatre and prep area, 4 consult rooms, laparoscopic spay equipment, multi parameters/bp machine, ultrasound and idexx lab equipment.

You will be joining a fantastic team made up of our Head Vet, 5 Vets (Feline Certificate holder), 9 RVNs (Anaesthesia certificate holder & Physiotherapy certificate holder), 1 SVN, 4 receptionists who are all supported by our Practice Manager. We strongly encourage our team to work towards certificates, with many of our team working towards them as well as other certificate holders across the group.
