Overview

Job Title: Youth Carer's Project Manager

Client: Local Authority in Newham

Location: Hybrid working – 2 days office-based in Dockside, Newham, E16

Hours: 36 hours a week (Mon-Fri), 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Duration: Initial 3 Month Contract

Pay: £26.94 per hour PAYE / £35.11 per hour Umbrella

Responsibilities
  • The postholder will be required to not only lead a varied portfolio but also act as a delivery agent and will be expected to work within all layers of the Directorate.
  • To lead projects and initiatives to transform and improve the operating model within the Children Directorate.
  • To drive change throughout the Service, encompassing workforce development principles and integration strategy underpinned by regional and local policy.
  • To ensure that the transformation and improvement agenda is delivered successfully using recognised and proportionate methodology, ensuring that there is consistency with the organisation.
  • To support key projects from the Corporate Transformation Programme.
  • To strategically support key inspections and oversee central co-ordination of the resulting action plans.
  • To lead and support on the production of savings initiatives, business cases, PIDs, bids, and equality assessments.
  • To ensure that cost-avoidance savings are robustly tracked and measured, with appropriate sign off and buy in so that ROI is demonstrated.
  • Demonstrate changes and improvements are value for money and determine the financial impact, both short and long-term, for Children's Services.

  • Demonstrable experience of successfully leading and implementing major change initiatives within the public or private sector
  • Significant experience of working in services with a variety of internal and external teams and providers to ensure significant service and cost effective improvements
