Morson Talent are delighted to present an opportunity for a suitably qualified and experienced Work Management Engineer - Electrical to join our client's established team in Somerset. All work is associated with the delivery of commissioning/pre-operations (Comm-op's) work on a nationally significant Nuclear New Build, energy infrastructure Project. This (renewable) CONTRACT opportunity would suit applicants at early careers stage who wish to gain unique experience on a complex construction Project.
Job Purpose

  • The successful individual will be required to assist in the development and implementation of Work Management processes, tools, as well as the specification of work to be delivered. Ensuring that the development and execution of work management procedures and arrangements are adequate to support each Project milestone.
  • Your area of focus will be in electrical commissioning and maintenance but may broaden to include other areas in future.
  • Working closely with not just OCC and Commissioning but Pre-Operations under the Comm-op's (Commissioning and Operations) Structure reflecting the joined up approach to Commercial Operation of this incredibly exciting power plant.

Context

  • Commissioning/Pre-Operations (Comm-op's) are responsible for delivering the Systems to generate electricity and the Operational capability for Site and ensuring that the future organisation, including people, working arrangements, equipment, facilities, and documents are ready for when the Nuclear Power Plant starts generating electricity.
  • You will be joining the OCC within Commissioning to aid the commissioning process with a view also to helping Pre-operations which includes Work Management, Supply Chain, Fuel Route, Outage & investment delivery, Equipment reliability and the Pre-service & Inservice inspection programme teams.

Principal Accountabilities

  • Work closely with the commissioning team to improve the efficient production of both team's processes and deliverables.
  • Specify Commissioning work order cards to suit the work within commissioning.
  • Resolve Open point problems by liaising and discussing with Stake holders.
  • As an active member of the OCC team, attend meetings as required.
  • Support the development of the operational stations routine maintenance into the Enterprise Asset Management System.
  • Work closely with the Equipment Reliability team to understand and produce the routine maintenance requirements for systems on the operational station.
  • Be involved and provide input into the development of the Enterprise Asset Management tool.
  • Provide input into the development of standards, procedures and arrangements which support safe and reliable operation and maintenance activities.
  • Support the development and delivery of Work Management, Planning processes and procedures.
  • Science and/or engineering background with relevant degree, HNC/HND or equivalent.
  • Significant hands-on electrical maintenance experience in an industrial setting on electrical distribution systems
  • Experience and proficiency in use of IT Systems including Microsoft applications.
  • Experience of using / writing maintenance instructions in an industrial environment.
  • Experience with hazard identification, performing / writing risk assessments, and identification of suitable mitigations
  • Familiarity with Maintenance Manuals and Electrical Engineering Drawings.
  • Experience with commissioning processes or experience with commissioning activities on a nuclear site (not essential)
