Overview

Wine Development Manager : Leading Drinks Business : Newcastle and The North East : £45,000 plus car allowance and bonus

I am excited to be working with a drinks business in the North of England. The business has grown and developed teams over several years and is seeking a Wine Development Manager to manage account activity and build new business across the North East. The Wine Development Manager will be responsible for managing a developing territory, working with key accounts and driving growth in independent venues. The ideal candidate will be proactive and passionate about the wine trade. This role offers autonomy over schedule, scope to expand the wine portfolio, and responsibility for training and development within the on-trade.

Responsibilities
  • New business development and existing business maintenance, with commercial management of P&L and weekly territory planning.
  • Build long-term trading relationships with key volume and image accounts.
  • Work closely with the on-trade sector to promote the portfolio and signature products.
  • Deliver brand education and training to suppliers, retailers and consumers.
  • Qualitative selection and development of customers.
  • Identify effective sponsorship and promotional opportunities.
  • Provide feedback on customer opportunities and competitor threats.
The Ideal Wine Development Manager
  • Candidate must come from a drinks background with strong understanding of the on-trade and wine.
  • Extensive experience in winning new business in the on-trade, with relationship building and account management.
  • WSET Level 2 minimum.
  • Personable and eager to develop; aims to be the next company superstar.
  • Results-focused with good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Prepared to travel and to work evenings and weekends when required.
