Overview

Are you an experienced Warehouse professional with the skills to lead, supervise, and motivate warehouse operatives to achieve operational targets? Are you comfortable working in a chilled environment?

GMP Recruitment are proud to be partnered with a family run food manufacturing business located in Tewkesbury. We are currently recruiting for a Warehouse Team Leader to join their team on a full-time, permanent basis. The successful candidate will oversee daily operations in a chilled warehouse, ensuring accurate receiving, picking, packing, and dispatch of chilled products. You will lead and motivate a team of warehouse operatives, maintaining high standards of efficiency, health and safety, and product quality.

You will be working a minimum of 37.5 hours per week, 5 days over 7 on a rotating shift pattern (various start times from 06:00am) please only apply if you can commit to this.

Hourly pay of £15.42 p/h plus overtime enhancements after 40 hours.

This hands-on role involves coordinating stock movements, managing manual handling tasks, and meeting tight deadlines in a fast-moving logistics and distribution setting.

Warehouse Team Leader main duties

• Lead, supervise, and motivate warehouse operatives to achieve operational targets
• Manage stock movements, ensuring product codes match picking tickets
• Oversee safe and efficient loading and unloading of delivery vehicles
• Ensure safe manual handling procedures are always followed
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organised chilled warehouse environment
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and food hygiene standards
• Provide training, coaching, and support to team members

Warehouse Team Leader required skills and experience

• Proven experience in a busy warehouse environment - ideally in food manufacturing, FMCG, chilled distribution, or logistics
• Strong leadership and communication skills with a solutions-focused approach
• Ability to thrive under pressure and adapt to changing priorities
• Flexibility to work different shifts, including early starts from 06:00
• Knowledge of safe working practices and strong attention to detail
• Ideally a current Counterbalance Forklift Licence or Powered Pallet Truck (PPT) licence - training available for suitable candidates
