A leading NHS healthcare provider in London is seeking an experienced manager for a 14 bedded children’s ward specializing in gastroenterology. The successful candidate will provide expert clinical leadership, manage nursing staff, and ensure high standards of care for vulnerable patients. This role involves 24-hour accountability and a commitment to improving patient outcomes. It offers a chance to make a significant difference in the lives of children with complex health needs.
The role is to manage a 14 bedded children’s ward with a focus on gastroenterology. You will share clinical and managerial skills in this role. We are looking for an individual with previous gastroenterology experience who is committed to making a difference in the lives of vulnerable paediatric patients with inflammatory bowel disease, intestinal failure and other relevant conditions.
The post holder will provide expert clinical leadership at ward level, setting and delivering high standards of clinical care. The post holder will provide 24 hour accountability for the overall management of the ward and the delivery of nursing care. Responsibilities include the management, deployment and supervision of nursing and associated staff and the management of the budget. You will lead the development of ward nursing practice and standards of care and be responsible for the education of patients and staff.
The post holder will provide an element of coordination of the discharge of complex, long-term patients, delegating appropriate tasks to relevant team members.
