Ward Manager

Salary: £52,591 per annum + Excellent Benefits

Location: York, Yorkshire

Hours: 35 hours per week

HCR is working with a respected neurorehabilitation charity supporting individuals with acquired brain injuries. We’re seeking a Ward Manager to lead inpatient units, ensuring high-quality care. The Ward Manager will provide strong clinical and operational leadership, always maintaining excellent standards at all times.

Responsibilities
  • Lead on recruitment, training, supervision, and staff wellbeing. Manage rotas, leave, and ensure staffing levels meet care needs. Support staff through induction, mentorship, and preceptorship.
  • Manage complaints, equipment safety, and environmental cleanliness. Provide hands-on care when needed and participate in the on-call rota
  • Ensure that safeguarding, risk assessments, infection control, incident reporting, and medication management are adhered to.
  • To ensure effective admissions/discharges planning for patients

Requirements
  • RMN or RNLD qualification with proven experience managing a ward or large team.
  • Background in complex care or rehab services.
  • Mentorship in Practice (or willing to complete).
  • Solid understanding of Clinical Governance, Clinical Risk assessment, and staff development.
