Ward Clerk – Medical Same Day Emergency Care Unit

We have an exciting opportunity for Ward Clerk in the Medical Same Day Emergency Care Unit.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide efficient, effective, comprehensive administrative support for the department/SDEC.
  • Perform administrative tasks such as record keeping, data entry, filing and scanning.
  • Deal with telephone queries and check and update patient information with clinical staff, managers and patients.
  • Communicate information verbally and in writing, providing routine information for patients and staff, e.g., discharge, admission, transfers and making appointments.
  • Handle barriers to understanding, such as anxious patients, relatives, cultural differences, and language or communication difficulties.
  • Update patient management systems, answer calls and greet patients/relatives, prepare notes and support the nursing team with all aspects of ward administration.
  • Book return patients for various appointments and scans.
