Heritage Collections is looking fora skilled and experienced Appraisal Archivist and Archive Collections Manager for its expanding Conservation & Collections Management team.

The Opportunity:

The post holder will be a qualified archivist, implementing appraisal strategy and leading on archival collections management within a dynamic and supportive environment. The post holder will work in close collaboration with Heritage Collections colleagues as part of the holistic acquisition/appraisal/preservation/cataloguing/access process for the University’s physical and digital archival collections. The post holder will line manage a part-time technician role to assist in the practical application of the appraisal strategy.

Your skills and attributes for success:

Practical experience of archival appraisal

Awareness of legislative frameworks such as Data Protection, Copyright, Health and Safety and Equality and Diversity

Experience of people management, including staff/students/graduate interns, and professional relationship building

Commitment to generating and sharing professional knowledge, research findings, and best practice through a range of media
