Responsibilities
- Managing your own projects
- Carrying out below ground utility and drainage surveys
- Quality Assurance – Ensure that standards are being followed on site and in the office
- Mentoring of junior team members
Team
- Surveying Services (UK)
- Working within a team of 28 Surveyors based UK wide, consisting of Topographical, Measured Building & Buried Services Surveyors and UAV Pilots
- Working mainly on surveying projects based in Scotland
- Varied client base from Local Authorities to Multi-Discipline Consultants
- Reporting to the survey team leads in Edinburgh/Glasgow
- Hardworking
- City based offices with excellent transport links and nearby amenities
- Surveying Services promote the power of joined-up geospatial technologies to bring locational data alive
What we’re looking for
- QCF Level 3 and Level 5, in Utility Mapping and Surveying or an equivalent qualification as part of a degree, HND or engineering-based module; suitable skills and proven experience will be considered
- Proven experience carrying out fieldwork for below ground utility surveys and drainage surveys on varied sites using Electromagnetic and GPR techniques; experience of working to PAS128 standards, collecting and post-processing GPR data
- Experience producing 2D & 3D CAD drawings and other survey reports
- Experience using total stations and GNSS
- Experience in Topographical Surveys is advantageous but not essential
- Ability to communicate clearly to public and team members; able to operate effectively in all weather conditions, or at night
- Undertake own CPD
- Must have the skills to check and critically evaluate the work of others, including drawings, calculations or reports
- Active contribution to Technical Excellence and innovation across the survey team
- Full UK driving licence, as the role will require travel around the country
