User Researcher - Contract Opportunity

Harvey Nash is delighted to be working with a valued public sector client on an exciting User Researcher contract role.

We're looking for a skilled User Researcher to join a multidisciplinary digital team, helping to shape user-centred services aligned with Scottish Government Service Standards. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to a strategic digital transformation programme, working in an agile environment and engaging directly with users to improve service design and delivery.

Key Details
  • Rate: £450 per day (Inside IR35)
  • Duration: 6 months
  • Location: Edinburgh - 2 days per week on-site
  • Start Date: ASAP
Role Overview

You'll be responsible for:

  • Leading user research activities across digital projects
  • Creating and socialising user personas, journeys, and site maps
  • Producing wireframes, prototypes, and user flows for feedback
  • Conducting usability testing and user interviews
  • Embedding test-and-learn practices across the organisation
  • Collaborating with product, digital, and data teams
  • Ensuring alignment with SG Digital Standards
Skills & Experience
  • Proven experience in agile user research within public sector or similar environments
  • Strong understanding of Scottish Government Digital Standards
  • Proficiency with design and collaboration tools
  • Familiarity with Microsoft 365, Azure, and Power Platform
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
  • Relevant certifications in research methodologies or Microsoft technologies
