The Role

For the first six months, you’ll work in a supportive emotional wellbeing helpline setting, delivering in-the-moment emotional support and Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) via telephone, live chat, and video.

You will develop key competencies in safeguarding, risk assessment, and clinical evaluation, all in line with the UKCP Ethical Principles and Code of Professional Conduct.

You will also manage structured video counselling sessions (including CBT-based work), which will contribute to your UKCP accreditation clinical hours.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide responsive, professional telephone counselling services
  • Assess client needs and determine appropriate therapeutic interventions
  • Deliver immediate, solution‑focused support where possible
  • Work effectively with a broad range of presenting issues, including high‑risk cases
  • Maintain accurate and confidential client records
  • Conduct clinical assessments and signpost clients to suitable services
  • Apply safeguarding and risk management procedures in accordance with policy
  • Respond to email and web‑based counselling enquiries within set timeframes
  • Manage a caseload of structured video counselling sessions
  • Consistently deliver high standards of client care
What You’ll Bring
  • Level 4 Diploma in Counselling (or higher)
  • Minimum 100 hours of supervised counselling practice
  • UKCP Registered Graduate (or equivalent membership)
  • Excellent communication and active listening skills
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to meet deadlines
  • Confident IT skills and experience in telephone‑based work
  • Must be eligible to work in the U.K.
