Overview

Prospero Teaching are seeking a compassionate, resilient, and experienced Tutor to support a young person in Year 9 who requires support with Maths. This learner is currently working at an upper Key Stage 2 level in Maths and English and thrives in a 1:1 learning environment that is calm, encouraging, and nurturing. If you have experience working with young people in UK schools, and are a kind, resilient and caring professional, please apply to become a Tutor.

Responsibilities
  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging sessions that meet the needs of students.
  • Assess and monitor student progress, providing feedback and support to help them achieve their full potential.
  • Record student progress and report on this weekly.
  • Be understanding, empathetic and patient.
  • Record attendance.
  • Be organised, dependable and creative.
  • Be calm, fair and adaptable.
About you
  • Experience working with young people in UK schools
  • Background in SEN education or alternative provision - desirable but not essential
  • Confident delivering Maths and English
  • Empathetic, reliable, and calm under pressure
  • Able to build trusting relationships and foster a love of learning
  • Experience of working with young people with SEMH needs
Position details
  • Position - Tutor
  • Contract or position start date - ASAP
  • Full time/part-time - Opportunities for both
  • Hours - 1.5 Hours per week - work with multiple students to build up hours
Essential & Desirable Qualifications
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience working within UK schools - ESSENTIAL
  • Experience of working with learners with SEN/SEMH needs
Eligibility
  • Hold right to work in the UK
  • Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
  • Provide references upon request
  • Possess up to date Safeguarding Training (or a willingness to undertake this)
