Overview

An excellent opportunity for an experienced Transport / Operations Coordinator to join a well-established company!

Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent.

Salary: Competitive Salary of £42,500 Plus Per Annum, Depending on Experience & Qualifications.

Location: Orkney KW17.

About The Role

In this role you will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day transport activities, ensuring compliance across the fleet, supporting drivers and maintaining a high level of service for customers.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee day-to-day transport activities and ensure fleet compliance; support drivers and maintain customer service levels.
  • Coordinate resources, facilitate communication, solve operational problems and manage administrative tasks to ensure smooth operations.
  • Maintain strong, professional relationships with hauliers, businesses, staff, and liaise with Sub-contractors, Quarry Manager and Ready-mix Concrete Operations Manager to maintain service levels.
  • Booking transport, shipping, arranging external haulage, organising truck maintenance (MOTs/repairs/brake tests) and ensuring relevant legislation is adhered to (health and safety regulation; IOSH qualification desirable).
  • Assist with organising, planning and prioritising workload in a multi-task environment.

  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations and industry best practices; IOSH qualification desirable.
