Trainee Quantity Surveyor
Opportunity for a Trainee Quantity Surveyor to join a subcontractor in Bedford with over three decades of experience in the construction industry. This organisation delivers high-quality work across plastering, dry lining, SFS, screeding, suspended ceilings and external rendering. Their projects span commercial and residential sectors, including hospitals, care homes, offices, hotels and new build developments. They are known for maintaining high standards, supporting their teams and offering long-term career opportunities.
They are now seeking a trainee quantity surveyor to join their office-based team with regular site visits. This role offers the chance to learn from experienced surveyors while gaining hands-on exposure to cost management, procurement, valuations, project support and site measurement. It is an excellent opportunity for someone who motivated, organised and looking to build a long-term career in construction.
The ideal candidate will have some form of construction related qualification, either completed or currently in progress. This could include a college course, apprenticeship, HNC, HND or a relevant degree pathway. A genuine interest in the construction industry is essential, along with good communication skills, attention to detail and a willingness to learn. They should be comfortable working in an office environment while also spending time on site to understand how projects are delivered. Strong organisational skills, basic IT competence and the ability to work as part of a team will be important.
