Overview

A well-established business based in Birstall is looking to recruit a Trainee Accounts Assistant to join their finance team on a permanent, full-time basis. Offering a salary of £24,000 to £28,000 (depending on experience), this is a fantastic opportunity for someone with 12-18 months' finance experience who\'s eager to develop their career in a supportive and professional environment.

Reporting to the Finance Manager, you\'ll gain hands-on experience across a wide range of finance tasks, with the chance to build up valuable knowledge in payroll as you progress.

Responsibilities
  • Assisting with bank reconciliations and maintaining accurate records
  • Processing expenses and supporting with company card transactions
  • Supporting month-end processes and reporting activities
  • Posting and processing entries across ledgers
  • Helping the finance team with admin tasks and ad hoc duties
  • Learning and gaining exposure to payroll as part of your development
What\'s we're looking for
  • Experience in a finance-related role (e.g. Accounts Assistant, Finance Admin, Purchase/Sales Ledger)
  • Good IT and Excel skills
  • An organised, accurate approach and the ability to work to deadlines
  • A proactive attitude with strong communication skills and a team-player mindset

Based in Birstall, the role is easily commutable from Leeds, Bradford, Wakefield, Dewsbury, Morley and Batley. Free on-site parking is available, and the office is well-served by public transport.
