Overview

To competently follow predefined test processes to deliver products through advanced and specialised experience, typically developed through a combination of job-related training and considerable on-the-job experience. Role Dimensions overtime during certain periods of the year is essential to ensure customer deadlines are achieved.

Responsibilities
  • Leads and delivers in test activities following instructions and processes to ensure technology is delivered effectively, efficiently, on-time, to specification and in a cost effective manner.
  • Supervises and provides support to test technicians.
  • Completes own work unsupervised and facilitates the work and activities of others; may coordinate work beyond own area.
  • Acts as a lead, proposes improvements to processes and coordinates the work of others.
  • Performs / prepares test activities during product manufacturing.
  • Electronics assembly inspection support.
  • Use of standard bench top test equipment such as oscilloscopes, function generators, multimeters etc.
  • Ability to fault find electronic circuits and assemblies to component level.
  • Follows and communicates understanding of test procedures, processes and technical documentation.
  • Works autonomously within established procedures and practices.
  • Maintains manufacturing documentation to achieve full standards of traceability.
  • Fully contributes to the process of continuous improvements and company goal of achieving zero defects in accordance with ISO9001 certified quality management systems requirements.
Qualifications
  • Good GCSE grades or equivalent in English and Maths.
  • ONC, HNC or equivalent in an electronic discipline essential.
  • Comprehensive understanding of relevant IPC standards.
  • General understanding of industry standards and regulations in order to ensure guidelines are followed and machinery and equipment are operated safety.
  • Has developed proficiency in a range of processes or procedures through job-related training and considerable on-the-job expertise.
  • Basic PC skills.
  • Good time management.
  • Good attention to detail to allow you to maintain or exceed high levels of production / test standards and efficiency.
  • Ability to fully contribute to the process of continuous improvements.
  • Comprehensive understanding of working in similar high technology environment.
