Overview
Repair and maintenance on a fleet of 131 Vehicles (90% US Spec Left-hand drive).
- Repair and maintenance on a range of equipment (including tail lifts, generators etc).
- Perform inspections, maintenance, identify faults and carry out repairs on all vehicle types as required.
- Use of diagnostic equipment to evaluate mechanical problems in vehicles.
- Ensure that all maintenance and repairs are carried out in accordance with relevant instructions and regulations.
- Conduct vehicle test drives to verify vehicle roadworthiness.
- Operate all tools, equipment, and machinery according to associated safety procedures.
- Follow company safety procedures and industry standards to perform role, including COSHH, manual handling, working at height, etc.
Qualifications
- Must have a full clean UK Driving License
- NVQ Level 3 Maintenance Qualification or Equivalent
- Be self-motivated with relevant experience in vehicle inspection, repair, maintenance and diagnostics and able to work to a high standard
- Must be able to obtain and maintain appropriate Security Clearance
Desirable
- Mobile Air Conditioning Qualification
- Drivers Certificate or Professional Competence [CPC]
- Experience of Tyre changing and balancing
- HGV licence
- Experience in roadside recovery + trailer (+E)

Contract and Benefits
Permanent, Full time, 39 hours per week (Monday - Friday) £33,948 plus on-call allowance (plus overtime when called out).
Role
Serco have an exciting opportunity for a Vehicle Technician to join the team at RAF Molesworth.
As the Vehicle Technician, you will be responsible for the through life service and repair of a fleet of UK and US spec vehicles ranging from cars to fire trucks.
The role is 39 hours per week Monday - Friday and you will be part of a fantastic team who also provide 24/7 accident and breakdown cover. An allowance is paid on top of your salary for holding a call-out phone 1 week in 4, and any callout attracts overtime on top of that.
