Overview

Job Overview
An opportunity has arisen for a band 6 senior staff nurse to join our friendly team on the children\'s unit. This post would be suitable for an experienced band 5 staff nurse with both strong clinical knowledge and leadership qualities.

The successful candidate will be self motivated and passionate about the care of children and young people and committed to improving service delivery and flexible to the needs of the service. A desire to learn and undertake leadership and management training is essential.

The Children\'s Unit consists of 20 inpatient beds including 1 High Dependency bed. We also have 5 Assessment unit beds, 8 medical/surgical day case beds and 1 Oncology bed.

Main duties of the job
  • Provide management and organisation of a clinical area. Assess, plan, implement and evaluate evidenced-based nursing care.
  • Contribute to the education, development and line management of other staff (qualified and unqualified).
  • Work collaboratively and co-operatively with others to meet the needs of patients and their families with minimal or no supervision.
  • The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
