Teaching Assistant

Location: Loughborough/Leicestershire (LE12)

Pay: 90 - 100 per day

Start Date: Interview arranged Asap

Contract: Long-term to permanent

Hours: Monday to Thursday: 8:15am - 16:30pm, Friday: 8:15am - 3:15pm

About the Role

Are you ready to make a meaningful impact in a specialist SEMH environment?

We are partnered with a respected SEMH school located in a small village in Leicestershire (LE12). This specialist SEMH school supports pupils aged 7-16, providing a nurturing, therapeutic environment tailored to their needs. Students are taught in small groups with high levels of staff support, enabling them to build trust, regulate their emotions and re‑engage positively with learning.

The successful candidate will be able to build positive relationships and use a range of strategies to keep pupils engaged. You will be supporting students across a wide range of lessons including Life Skills, PE, Art, Cooking and Forest School.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Providing dedicated support to students with SEMH needs through 1:1 and small‑group work
  • Assisting class teachers in delivering engaging and structured lessons
  • Promoting positive behaviour, resilience and emotional development
  • Helping students build essential social, life and learning skills
  • Contributing to classroom management, safe learning environments and pupil wellbeing
What We're Looking For
  • Experience working with children or young people, ideally in a SEMH or SEN setting
  • Patient, calm and adaptable approach with a genuine interest in supporting young learners
  • Strong communication and relationship‑building skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Enhanced DBS required (or willing to apply)
