Key Responsibilities
  • Support pupils with a range of special educational needs (including PMLD, SLD, and Autism)
  • Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging, accessible lessons
  • Provide one-to-one and small-group support tailored to individual learning needs
  • Use creative, sensory-based approaches to support engagement and communication
  • Help manage behaviour in a calm and positive way
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and support staff
  • Contribute to a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment
Qualifications and Experience
  • Previous experience working with children or young people with SEND (desirable but not essential)
  • Patience, empathy, and adaptability when supporting pupils with complex needs
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Positive attitude and commitment to inclusive education
  • Relevant qualifications such as Level 2/3 TA or SEN training are advantageous
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
