Teacher – Special Schools

Are you a qualified teacher looking to switch into teaching in special schools? Are you looking for a rewarding role where every day is different, and you can see the positive impact that you are making?

The Education Network is recruiting for both primary and secondary trained teachers to teach at special schools across Birmingham. The schools that we support are currently recruiting teachers for short term cover and long-term opportunities. These schools are looking for teachers who are passionate about teaching children with additional learning needs, are patient, empathetic and resilient, and can tailor their teaching style to meet the varied needs of pupils.

Responsibilities
  • Planning and delivering creative, individualised lessons to meet pupils’ learning and developmental needs.
  • Working collaboratively with teaching assistants and specialist staff to support progress.
  • Creating a safe and structured classroom that promotes confidence, communication, and independence.
  • Building strong relationships with pupils, families, and external professionals.
  • Supporting the social, emotional, and personal development of pupils alongside academic learning.
Qualifications
  • QTS is essential and experience teaching children with special educational needs is desirable.
  • Knowledge of strategies for supporting pupils with a range of needs.
  • A creative and flexible approach to planning and teaching.
