About The Role
Are you ready to apply your technical expertise in structural engineering and contribute to complex, impactful projects? As a Structural Engineer, you will play a vital role in designing and analyzing structural systems and providing essential engineering support across various projects. Reporting to the Discipline Lead Engineer or Area Lead Engineer, this position involves delivering solutions for engineering tasks of intermediate complexity and working collaboratively to meet project requirements and high-quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct engineering analyses and calculations for structural systems and recommend solutions for intermediate complexity problems.
- Develop and review specifications and design criteria.
- Coordinate closely with other disciplines, project management teams, vendors, and clients.
- Ensure compliance with project quality plans and approved scopes, including cost and schedule baselines.
- Provide technical support for equipment and material procurement, including scope definitions, technical evaluations, and vendor review.
- Support construction administration by responding to construction requests-for-information and addressing field changes.
- Prepare detailed reports and control documentation for material quantities and key performance metrics.
Basic Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in civil or structural engineering or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum 5 years of related work experience.
- Technical Knowledge: Proficient in federal, state, and local codes and standards, with a solid understanding of EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) processes.
Skills
- Effective communication with stakeholders, including management, vendors, and clients.
- Intermediate knowledge of discipline codes and standards.
- Proficient in software tools for word processing, spreadsheets, and electronic presentations.
- Ability to work under tight deadlines with attention to detail.
Discipline-Specific Qualifications
- Structural Design Software: Knowledge in using STAAD, STAADPro, RISA3D, and Mathcad.
- Technical Expertise: Proficiency in analyzing complex structures, including seismic and wind load calculations, dynamic analysis, blast design, and computer modeling.
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional Credentials: Professional Engineer license.
- Industry Experience: Experience in sectors such as nuclear facilities, manufacturing, pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or with U.S. Department of Energy projects.
- Field Experience: Practical field experience and understanding of ASME NQA-1 requirements for nuclear facilities.

Salary transparency: This role has an expected salary range of $90,000 – $160,000, based on experience, qualifications, and the location of the position.
