Overview

Stores Operative / Stock Controller

Location: Wigston
Reports to: Materials Management Team Leader

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our Materials Management Department as part of the Stores Team. This role plays a vital part in maintaining the integrity of our stock, supporting material movement, and ensuring the smooth operation of warehouse activities.

Working Hours

37 hours per week

Monday - Thursday: 8:00am - 4:00pm
Friday: 8:00am - 3:30pm

Key Responsibilities
  • Previous exposure to stock control principles.
  • Maintain stock accuracy and integrity across all materials.
  • Manage material movement within the warehouse and between sites.
  • Follow both written and verbal instructions precisely to ensure safe and efficient working practices.
  • Support colleagues as part of a strong and collaborative team.
  • Work safely at heights when required.
  • This is not a full-time fork truck position. While occasional use of a fork truck may be required, the majority of your time will be spent on stock control, material movement, and supporting the Stores Team. For the right candidate, we would be happy to provide counterbalance training.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
  • Previous experience in stock control principles.
  • A proven track record of working in a busy warehouse environment.
  • Strong computer literacy, particularly in Excel.
  • Ability to work independently with a flexible and proactive attitude.
  • Strong teamwork skills with the ability to communicate effectively.
  • A valid driving licence (required for driving the company vehicle).
