Healthcare Staffing Programme (HSP)

Band 5 (£33,247 - £41,424) – pro rata dependent on hours worked

Various working patterns & locations across Scotland

Healthcare Improvement Scotland is seeking to recruit a bank of Observers as part of our Observation Study project team throughout Scotland to support the Healthcare Staffing Programme.

You will observe and record tasks undertaken by nursing, midwifery, allied health professions and multi‑professional clinical staff across various NHS Scotland sites and specialties, using devices provided by Healthcare Improvement Scotland.

As an Observer, you must be a registered nurse or allied health professional and already have practical experience within a clinical healthcare setting. We are looking for confident, dependable, experienced individuals with an eye for detail and flexibility to support this national programme of work. Training will be provided, and reasonable travel will be required to undertake studies at different locations.

This is an exciting opportunity to be involved in a national project to assist in the review and development of Staffing Level Tools. As a bank worker, shifts will be allocated on an as and when required basis with varying work patterns. There are no guarantees of a fixed number of hours in any period as this will be dependent on the schedule of studies being undertaken.
